DESCRIPTION:Rev John Maynard is a member of The Nelson Society which was fo
 rmed to promote interest in and appreciation of the character and life of 
 Admiral Lord Nelson. He will present a talk on John Scott who was born in 
 August 1764\, the son of a tenant farmer on the Gordon Castle estate. He b
 ecame a friend and confidant to Lord Nelson and of whom Nelson is quoted a
 s saying "My Secretary\, I esteem a Treasure. He is not only a clever man\
 , but indefatigable in his business\, and an extraordinarily well-behaved 
 modest man."\n\nTickets are available here or on the door on the night. Do
