DESCRIPTION:Roy Dennis OBE is a field ornithologist and wildlife consultant
 \, living near Forres. He has worked in the Highlands and Islands of Scotl
 and since 1959. His Foundation is a European leader in species recovery\; 
 latest successes include restoring the white-tailed eagle to the South Coa
 st of England after an absence of over two centuries and translocating you
 ng ospreys to Poole Harbour in Dorset to restore the long-lost breeding po
 pulation. Nearer home he has been looking at the plight of the capercailli
 e – 20\,000 in Scotland when he was young and now only 400 or so. This i
 nspired him to write his latest book and is the subject of his illustrated
  talk.\n\nThe Highland Cow and the Horse of the Woods (Capercaillie in Gae
 lic) will be available to buy on the evening. Signed copies (£20)\n\nRefr
 eshments will be served before and after the presentation.\nDoors open 6.1
