The Forres Heritage Trust was delighted that the Lord Lieutenant, Major General Seymour Monro, chose to use the Forres Tolbooth to host a visit to Moray by The Princess Royal.
The Tolbooth, which houses the historic courtroom, was chosen as a venue for Her Royal Highness to meet a number of representatives from the community including members of staff from the Forres Health Centre.
George Alexander, Chairman of the FHT who met Her Royal Highness and introduced her to a number of local community leaders, said: “We are delighted to have been able to welcome The Princess Royal and that The Tolbooth was chosen as the venue. Following its recent renovation by the dedicated volunteers, the courtroom is certainly fit to host such occasions. A light lunch was provided by Chimes and The Princess Royal chatted to the guests.”
As well as visiting the Tolbooth, The Princess Royal also visited AJ Engineering and the Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation.
