Built in 1838/39 on the site of the existing Tolbooth which has been in existence for over 800 years, a visit to the Tolbooth offers the chance to see historic paintings, the newly renovated court room and also the opportunity to get a first glimpse of our new visitor attraction, the newly refurbished police office and cells where children can enjoy fingerprinting and a ‘convicts’ wall!’
